Sowing and Growing: Leah & Rachel

  • Faith 
    • What have we been planting that the Lord wants to bring new life from. Or what is he asking you to sow (to let go of control—get it out of your hands) in order to bear new fruit.

  • Whatever seed you plant determines the fruit you bear. 
  • It matters where you sow because the seed will multiply. 
    • Make a commitment to this house. 
    • Leah & Rachel Gen. 29
      • Rachel=beautiful figure, lovely face
        • from an unused root meaning to journey; a ewe (as a good traveller):—ewe, sheep.
      • Leah=no sparkle in her eyes, dull eyes (weak?)
        • “to be weary, be impatient, be grieved, be offended”
        • But when God redeems your Leah, “weak and weary” turns to “Beauty and Grace” 
        • Psalm 18:32-33 
  • Your harvest will come from the least attractive things in your life, things you have to learn to love. 
    • Eventually, you're married to both. But you better learn how to love Leah because that's where your multiplication is coming from. You're spending all your time and effort to win Rachel, but in the end, Christ is coming through Leah!
  • YOU DON’T BEAR FRUIT ON THE SAME DAY YOU PLANT
    • Biggest hinderances to growth
      • Chasing comfort and convenience will cause you to sacrifice character
      • Offense: What you don’t get healed from continues to project into tomorrow
      • Fear is the great paralyzer. It’s destiny is disappointment. It will dream up beautiful ideas just to destroy them and continue the cycle of bashed hopes.
    • If you want healthy growth, cultivate intimacy
      • James 4:7
      • Fruit
        • You cannot fake fruit.
        • Fruit is for someone to eat .. so what fruit do you have that others are feasting off of
      • Promise
        • The best thing about every place you will ever go in your life is that He will be there.
        • God must always be higher importance than the promised land. It’s only the promise because HE gave it. Without Him, it’s emptiness
  • You can call in a seed.
    • The secret of growth is in the seed, not in the soil nor in the weather nor in the cultivating. These all help. They are ingredients to the whole process, but the seed spontaneously works according to its own nature.

    • Lo que hemos estado plantando es aquello de lo que el Señor quiere que brote nueva vida. ¿O qué es lo que te pide que sembres (que dejes ir el control, que lo saques de tus manos) para poder dar fruto nuevo?

  • Cualquier semilla que plantes determinará el fruto que darás. 
  • Importa dónde siembres porque las semillas se multiplicarán.
    • Comprométete con esta casa.

    • Rachel=hermosa figura, rostro encantador
      • de una raíz no utilizada que significa viajar; una oveja (como buen viajero):—oveja, oveja.
      • Leah=sin brillo en sus ojos, ojos apagados (¿débil?)
        • “estar cansado, estar impaciente, estar afligido, estar ofendido”
        • Pero cuando Dios redime a tu Lea, “débil y cansada” se convierte en “Belleza y Gracia”

    • Tu cosecha vendrá de las cosas menos atractivas de tu vida, las cosas que tienes que aprender a amar.
      • Al final, te casas con ambos. Pero será mejor que aprendas a amar a Leah porque de ahí vendrá tu multiplicación. ¡Estás gastando todo tu tiempo y esfuerzo en ganar a Raquel, pero al final, Cristo viene a través de Lea!
  • NO SE DAN FRUTOS EL MISMO DÍA QUE SE SIEMBRA
    • Los mayores obstáculos para el crecimiento
      • Perseguir la comodidad y la conveniencia te hará sacrificar el carácter.
      • Ofensa: Lo que no sanas continúa proyectándose hacia el mañana
      • El miedo es el gran paralizador. Su destino es la decepción. Soñará con hermosas ideas sólo para destruirlas y continuar el ciclo de esperanzas frustradas.
  • Si quieres un crecimiento saludable, cultiva la intimidad
  • Fruta
    • No se puede falsificar la fruta.
    • La fruta es para que alguien la coma... entonces, ¿qué fruta tienes tú que otros están comiendo?
  • Promesa
    • Lo mejor de cada lugar que vayas en tu vida es que Él estará allí.
    • Dios debe ser siempre mayor que la tierra prometida. Es solo la promesa porque ÉL la dio. Sin Él, es vacío.
  • Puedes llamar una semilla.
    • El secreto del crecimiento está en la semilla, no en el suelo ni en el clima ni en el cultivo. Todo esto es útil. Son los ingredientes de todo el proceso, pero la semilla trabaja espontáneamente según su propia naturaleza.
